French Bakery

By Eddie Tobey France is a country well known for romance, food and wine. So what more can be more appetizing to a food lover than to try out the various cakes and bakes the French boast so much of? The French are famous for their breads, which they usually bake in the old-fashioned way. They not only make typical breads, but they also make bread rings, pre-sliced petite loaves for party trays and, of course, the famous baguettes. The specialty of the baguette lies in the fact that it is a steamed form of a skinny, oval bread. The carmelization process on the outside of the loaf is slowed down by steam, which enables the entire loaf of bread to continue expanding in the first few minutes of baking. This is how the holes and the wonderful texture are attained in the baguette. That is not the only reason the French use steam; they also use it because it gives the crust of the bread a shiny and crackly texture that everyone enjoys. So, if you take a genuine French baguette from the oven and let it cool, you can actually hear the crackling sound of the crust as shrinks back to its final size. Of course, besides the baguette, one can also find delicious muffins, scones, bars, brownies, cheesecakes, deep-dish cookies and tarts and cakes in the French bakery. There are different flavors of pastries available, like Strawberry Rhubarb and Raspberry muffins, Pumpkin and Vegan Brown Rice Crispy brownies, Blueberry-Raspberry and Cinnamon Currant scones, which are all among the favorites. As far as cookies, one can go for white and dark chocolate chip or frosted oatmeal raisin cookies. The list is endless; so the next time you wish to have a taste of France, just hop down to the closest French bakery. Bakery provides detailed information about bakery, bakery equipment, bakery for sale, bakery management and more. Bakery is the sister site of Wine Picnic Baskets. Overcoming Your Perfection Paralysis in Marketing

By Fabienne Fredrickson Have you ever become a victim of your own perfection paralysis when it comes to marketing yourself? I talked to a few clients this week who have been toying with the idea of putting together a talk to promote their services for months but havent done anything about it. The problem is theyre waiting to have the talk written, finished, practiced, the flyer completed and have a list of marketing sources that are lined up to promote the thing before actually selecting a date and getting it done. NONSENSE! If Id waited to have all things perfectly settled before moving forward with a talk, Id still have only 3 or 4 clients in my practice, and believe me, I wouldnt be moving forward very quickly. Instead, I believe in scrapping this traditional route and going backwards. Ask any clients of mine and theyll tell you Im notorious for getting my clients to commit to a date 4 weeks from today (yes, we actually have them pull out their calendar and select the date right then and there) and book the space, time, and title of the talk, before anything else is done. What are my clients reactions? Yup, you guessed it YIKES! I need to get my butt in gear and get things going! Im giving a talk in 4 weeks!!! Magically, everything always gets done. The talk is written, finished, practiced, the flyer is completed and they have a list of marketing sources lined up to promote the thing, and always before the deadline. I call this being PULLED forward by your marketing, instead of being a victim of Perfection Paralysis. When you set yourself up to stop procrastinating and to start working to make it happen, it works every time. In the past, I too have dragged my feet on picking a date for an event I wanted to give. Should I have it in the summer, should I wait til fall? Since nothing was happening, I pulled out my calendar, picked a date, gave my credit card number to reserve the space and then made it happen, and you can too! Theres nothing like setting a deadline and getting in gear to make it happen. Your Client Attraction Assignment: Your turn. Are you procrastinating putting together a seminar or big event to market your services and reach out to your prospective clients? End the questioning NOW and just pick a date. Commit and then everything will fall into place because youll HAVE to get it done. Now, thats what I call being pulled by your future. Use your coach or a buddy as an accountability benchmark, and then send them an email with the date of your newly scheduled seminar or workshop. The most accountable thing you can do though is to pay for the space ahead of time. Thatll get you moving! :) If you like the idea of this unconventional way to market that gets you clients, youll love the Client Attraction Home Study System for attracting all the clients you need with proven, systematic processes that will help you fill your practice quickly and consistently, guaranteed. 2005 Fabienne Fredrickson Fabienne Fredrickson, The Client Attraction Expert, is founder of the Client Attraction System, the proven step-by-step program to help you attract more clients, in record time and consistently. 6 Fashion Tips for Gardeners

By Linda Gray Clothes and skin cream are far removed from potting out your begonias, or digging a trench for a line of potatoes. But the clothes you wear are important for your protection in the garden. Here are six simple but effective solutions to various gardening hazards... 1. Starting from the top, you need to protect your head. Body heat escapes through the head and in the cold weather a warm hat should be worn. Knit yourself a 'gardening crazy' hat or buy a simple woollen hat on the high street. And in the summer, even more attention should be paid to the head. The sun's rays are not only hot but they actually burn you. We all know this but how easy it is to forget when you want to soak up the sun after months of grey or cold weather. Invest in a cool sunhat. Not only will it help protect you from sunstroke, it will also protect against the drying out of your hair and skin. 2. Keep one old comfortable jacket or short coat, preferably with fairly large pockets, especially for the garden. When you're working, you won't need to worry about dirty marks. Leave them there, it's all part of the gardener's designer uniform! 3. Suitable trousers.. again keep a couple of old pairs especially for gardening. Wear heavy duty jeans for heavy duty work. A good waterproof pair are handy in damp climates. In fact, in damp climates, a whole waterproof gardening suit is invaluable. There is always planting to do in the rain, and a waterproof hat, jacket and trousers tucked in a pair of boots will keep you nice and dry! 4. Protect your hands. For light work, potting on or pinching out tomato plants, a disposable plastic pair of gloves or a pair of kitchen rubber gloves will be enough. For heavier work - pruning roses, weeding thistles and nettles, wear heavy duty gardening gloves, or your hands will suffer. 5. Watch those toes! Invest in a pair of steel toe capped boots and wear them! If you're pottering in the greenhouse or doing a little weeding, a simple pair of wellington boots will do, or even sandals if the weather allows. But as soon as you pick up a large tool, your steel toe-caps should be worn. If you're not used to them, these boots can feel heavy and cumbersome at first, but stick with it. If you're doing heavy work, you need heavy boots. 6. And last but certainly not least, you must protect your skin. Moisturise all exposed body parts whenever you are woking in the garden, rain or shine. Working outside will give you a nice healthy glow, but the wind and sun will dry your skin given half a chance. So there we have it, not a fashion designer's dream, but these 6 garden fashion tips will make life a lot more comfortable, and safer, for the average home gardener. Happy gardening! Las Vegas Weddings at Lake Mead

By Rebecca Johnson If you are planning a wedding in Las Vegas, you may want to consider getting married at Lake Mead. There are several options to choose from if you would like to get married at this famous man made lake. Lake Mead Cruises offers wedding packages that take place aboard their Mississippi style paddlewheel boats. The Desert Princess is the larger of the two boats they have available. It features two enclosed decks and an open air deck. This boat can accommodate groups of up to 250. The Desert Princess Too is available for groups of 75 or less. Ceremonies can be performed on the top deck of the boat with the beauty of Lake Mead creating the perfect setting for your wedding. Packages include a wedding cake, champagne toast, and up to three hours of cruise time on the lake. You can also purchase additional time if you want your reception to last longer. Some packages even include keepsake boarding photos which would make great wedding favors for your guests. Hors doeuvres or sit down dinner receptions can be arranged and several bar packages are offered. Their menu offers you the choice of salmon, chicken, prime rib, or pasta entrees which are accompanied with salad, bread, and side dishes such as rice pilaf and vegetables. Lake Mead Cruises can help you arrange entertainment for your wedding. They also provide a list of vendors for the services that do not come with their packages such as the minister, florist, and photographer. Package prices are more expensive on Fridays and Saturdays. Another option they offer, rather than chartering the whole boat for your wedding and reception, is to have the ceremony on the top deck prior to one of their scheduled cruises leaving. You can then pay the regular per person rate for you and your guests to join the cruise after the ceremony if youd like. Champagne brunch, mid-day, early dinner, and dinner and dance cruises are all offered. Rates for this run about $20-$60 a person depending on the cruise and group discounts that are offered. If you dont want to get married on a boat, you can still enjoy the scenery of Lake Mead by getting married in a park in Boulder City that overlooks the lake. The-Wedding-Company.com is a Boulder City, Nevada based company that provides this wedding package. The package also comes with a bouquet and boutonniere, photography, transportation, music, wedding cake, and a minister to perform a civil, religious, or renewal ceremony. Lake Mead is a fantastic place to have a wedding. It really is an oasis in the desert and is quite impressive when you consider that just decades ago, this enormous lake was nothing but desert. Multi-Purpose Pond Pumps Ideal for Small Water Gardens

By Gerry Fung For any pond owner, a pond pump is a mandatory requirement to circulate your water (because stagnant bodies of water are ideal breeding grounds for mosquitos). The standard pump preferred by water gardeners is the magnet-driven submersible pump. In the old days, the main disadvantage of submersible pumps was that the pump seal could rupture and release oil coolant into the water. However, this is not the case nowadays, because newer pumps are magnetic-driven, and no longer require coolant. Mag-driven pumps are slightly more expensive, but they have the added advantage of consuming less electricity. The main challenge for most pond owners is to find a pond pump that adequately addresses their needs. Are you looking for a pump for your backyard water garden? Do you want to have multiple water features such as a statue, a fountain, or a waterfall? Are you raising fish? If so, you may require increased filtration (I.e. an external filter). You may want to consider a multi-purpose pond pump. The advantage of a multi-purpose pond pump is that you can adapt them to accommodate any pond requirements. There is no need to purchase extra pumps or hardware in order to create multiple water flows because these pumps come with built-in diverter valves. The diverter provides you with the ability to alternate the intensity of water flow (through control valves) between two water flows. For example, one of the output water flows can be used as a fountain, because the pumps come complete with a telescopic riser and an assortment of fountain heads. The other water flow could be used to supply water to your statue, spitter, filter, watercourse, or waterfall. A properly sized multi-purpose pump can easily supply water to cascading filters and watercourses. A second advantage of a multi-purpose pump is that they have built-in mechanical pre-filters to prevent the pump from becoming clogged. These mechanical pre-filters comprise of a special sponge mesh which is extremely effective at trapping pond debris. This sponge can easily be cleaned once every several weeks to maximize mechanical filtration; replacement sponges can be purchased to prolong the life of your pump. We recommend both the Algreen SuperFlo and Shott Nursery Pro line of pumps because they are both high quality, energy-efficient pumps with excellent heads (I.e. maximum heights) of up to 15. These pumps are sized by gallons per hour (GPH) and can sustain flow rates of 200 GPH up to 1585 GPH! (we recommend a pump with a GPH rating that is at least half that of the volume of your pond) For more information about the Algreen SuperFlo and Shott Nursery Pro pond pumps, please go to http://www.gardenSM.com.
