What If You Have No Business Experience In Starting Up A Daycare?

By Christine Groth I get many questions from ladies who are concerned about starting a daycare and they have no business experience. To be very truthful, nine years ago I had no business experience and on top of all things I was a new mother and had really no experience with children. Was I crazy? Absolutely not. Starting a daycare in my home was one the best things I have ever done for my family. It allowed me to stay home and raise my twin daughters and make money at the same time. I loved caring for other children as well, it was wonderful to see them grow and develop. Not only was I caring for another familys child but I was also a part of their family. Many parents over the years have disclosed their lives and have confided in me about their personal situations. Back to the question at hand, do you need business experience? I would say no. One of the best things you can do in order to discover the world of childcare is to find a mentor. When I first started my daycare I called a family provider in my area and asked if I could come over and ask her some questions. She was happy to tell me everything about her daycare. Remember, ladies who do daycare are very nurturing individuals who want to help others. So feel free to ask questions, and remember that you can start out your daycare small. I started with only two children and then I grew from there. I love family childcare and think its a wonderful solution for families and children alike. Sugar Substitutes - What You Need To Know

By Kadence Buchanan A sugar substitute, or artificial sweetener, is a food additive which duplicates the effect of sugar or corn syrup in taste, but offers less food energy (calories). The latest dietary habits have introduced certain sweet, non-caloric substances, whose use has spread in the last few years. These sugar substitutes are considered as ideal by many people in order to control diverse metabolic disorders originated or aggravated by the ingestion of sugar, such as diabetes, obesity and arteriosclerosis. Moreover, the advantages of these substances are enormous, since they can replace sugar and quick re-absorption polysaccharides, making food more tempting without the extra calories of sugar. The reason why the food and beverage industry is increasingly replacing sugar, or corn syrup, with artificial sweeteners in a range of products traditionally containing sugar, is actually rather simple. Although the profit margins on artificial sweeteners are extremely low for manufacturers, they still cost the food industry just a fraction of the cost of sugar and corn syrup-which once was introduced by the industry as a low-cost alternative to sugar. In the UK, for example, it is now almost impossible to find any non-cola soft drinks in supermarkets which are not sweetened with artificial sweeteners, and a variety of side foods, like ketchups, mustards and mayonnaise are artificially sweetened. Although as early as 1969, many stories have been heard in relation to the dangers associated with sugar substitutes for the human health-particularly carcinogenic reactions-their continued use and different researches show that they are not harmful if they are consumed in the recommended doses. In fact, only in the U.S. between 2000 and 2005, a total of 3,920 products containing artificial sweeteners were launched. But the problem began in the 60's when in certain experiments with rats the excessive dose that was issued to them daily generated neoplastic disease in their bladder of some of the second-generation rats. Even though this was an experiment and the dose issues to the rats was completely disproportionate, it was 10,000 times higher than the dose an average person would take in a year's time, the scientific community and many of the sugar substitute consumers have been alarmed. But regardless of the ongoing controversy over the supposed health risks of artificial sweeteners, doctors support that "nothing is completely harmless to people, but everything depends on the quantity and the sensitivity of the subject, as well as on the time period of the dose." Thus, consumers should be informed that in the sugar market, an extremely powerful industry around the globe, economic interests are at play. Even if the results of the scientific studies are real or false, sweet food producers are always after their substitute competitors and as statistics have shown a number of health issues caused by tobacco, alcohol or sugar consumption, were attributed to market competition. Similar was the reason why the introduction of Aspartame in the U.S. was delayed for several years even though this sugar substitute is completely innocuous, since it consists of only two strictly natural amino acids. Kadence Buchanan writes articles on many topics including Nutrition, World of Food, and Food Facts. Getting Started with Radio Controlled Helicopters

By Randy John Beginning a new hobby is a great adventure for anyone. It is like facing open and blue skies with possibilities for fun and adventure. If you are considering certain hobbies, you might want to think about flying model planes or helicopters. If you have this in mind, you can think about some things to help you in getting started with radio controlled helicopters. By knowing how to start, you will be able to move into more complex models and movements later on. One of the most important things that most hobby flyers will say is that when you are getting started with radio controlled helicopters, you want to make sure that you can control everything. This means starting with some basic helicopter structures that are easier to handle. By doing this, you can be sure to adapt to the necessities of flying without ruining your first model. If you arent even sure where to start, you can look at training kits that might come with the different models to help you learn your new craft. The most important part of any beginner helicopter is the ability to control the flying of the helicopter. Of course, this will mean starting slow, then building up to more complex abilities. For many, this may mean beginning with a helicopter to fly indoors. This will guarantee that you dont break the model and can get used to how it works. The hardest part of starting with any helicopter is in maintaining the control of how the flight is performing. Before moving into the great outdoors, you will want to experiment with this to make sure that you can control what the helicopter is able to do. This will also prevent any crashing that may occur if you are outside and trying more complex stunts. Another part of getting started with radio controlled helicopters is in the way that the helicopter is structured. Many of the more advanced helicopters will have a more complex structure in order to perform more tasks. However, a beginning structure will begin with a double oar coaxial structure. While this makes it so that it wont move as fast, it will also give you the ability to have a reliable helicopter as you maneuver it around for practice. Of course, with any of the beginning helicopters, they will also have the ability to do more than you think. After you get used to the helicopter, you can also learn how to move it in different ways and maximize its capacities to work for you as a model. This is important to keep in mind while you are looking at the different possibilities for your helicopters. Getting started with radio controlled helicopters will mean finding the best of the bunch for your needs. There are several possibilities for you in the way of models that are designed specifically for beginners. Following simple techniques before moving into more complex models is the best way to begin. By looking at the beginning possibilities, you can get ready for higher and better take offs. Selecting the Right Trade Show for Your Company

By Dick Wheeler With a large number of trade shows to choose from, both here in the U.S. and abroad, and an ever- increasing number of new trade shows exploding onto the trade show scene each year, the job of an exhibitor selecting the right trade show(s) to attend can be an overwhelming challenge. The veteran trade show exhibitor knows, however, that the best way to meet this challenge is to have a solid plan in place by first determining their companys market, sales goals and promotional objectives. Once a company fully understands the reasons why it needs to exhibit in a trade show, then, and only then, can it begin to identify the proper trade show that will meet their marketing objectives. According to Skip Cox, president of Exhibit Surveys Inc., a trade show industry research firm based in Red Bank, New Jersey, the trade show selection process should begin with serious background research. Here are a couple of his tips on how you can research the right trade show for your company: 1. Research the trends in your industrynew technologies, competitors preferences, customers bias, etc. Then search for trade shows that reflect these trends. Read trade publications in your field as they are a very good source of the latest news in your industry. Opportunities abound for companies that are able to capitalize on these developments. Contact the editorial staff of trade publications to learn more about the latest breakthroughs in your business arena. Go to the Internet and research companies that are making news by introducing exciting new products or services in your field. Contact your trade associations to explore what companies they believe are leading the way. Then, seek out trade shows that are in tune with these trends for your trade show exhibit or your trade show display rental as trend-setting trade shows will be the ideal showcase for your trade show display. 2. Interview your co-workers and people in your field as to what trade shows match up with your clients needs. By zeroing in on your clients profile, you can determine what trade shows mirror your needs. Get input from your top marketing and upper management staff to determine what your market is. In addition, get feedback from your product and marketing managers and also your field sales reps. The sales reps are able to get face- to- face with clients and have a real understanding of their needs. In fact, according to an Exhibitor Magazine survey of trade show exhibit managers who sought help in selecting trade shows to attend, the most influential input on selecting trade shows came from the sales staff (35%). They were followed by: marketing staff (32%), show management statistics (24%), upper management (20%), following where the competition goes (20%), customer suggestions (18%), other (12%), and the product development staff (8%). The respondents checked off all of the resources that applied. By doing your research on what is hot in your industry, matching up trade shows that mirror these trends, and answering your client needs, you will be able to select the right trade shows for your company. Then you will be well on the way to a successful trade show exhibit experience. This is true wherever you have your custom trade show exhibit, custom modular exhibit or trade show exhibit rental, whether the exhibit is at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Moscone Center in San Francisco, the Santa Clara Convention Center or the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Quick, Convenient Healthy Snacks for Kids

By Stacie Mahoe "Don't forget to put a snack in your backpack, you have practice after school." Or "Remind me it's our turn to bring snacks for the team on Saturday." Sound familiar? With kids on the go so much, it's important to have quick, healthy snacks. Children need a healthy energy boost and it needs to be done without much time or hassle. A box of doughnuts sure would be easier, wouldn't it? Perhaps, but it wouldn't be healthier. There are many healthy snacks that don't take too long to prepare nor too long to consume. Below are several snack ideas for you. When thinking of snacks for your child, remember to consider the time of year. Frozen juice pops are a fun refreshing snack, but not likely very appreciated if its windy and cold out! However, for warmer months, keep snacks cold in an ice filled cooler. Lots of liquids are important, especially if your child is involved with sports. Freeze juice boxes and water bottles for an ice cold, fluid replacement - contrary to belief that freezing water bottles causes a toxic reaction. If you've heard that warning before, it was simply an urban legend not true. Fruit is a simple snack that meets the quick and easy requirement. Grab a half peck of applies, a couple bunches of bananas and some clusters of grapes and you're good to go. Someone thought of the excellent idea of making snack sized zip lock baggies. These are the perfect size to fill with trail mix. One variation of this recipe is to mix pretzels, walnuts, almonds and raisins. Some prefer to mix m&m chocolate candies, peanuts, almonds and dried banana chips. Any combination of nuts and fruit works great. Mini muffins are always a big hit. Bake some blueberry or banana nut muffins, and then toss a couple muffins into a zip lock baggie for a tasty, quick snack to go. With a small time investment, you can whip up some nutritious granola bars. Add oatmeal, sunflower seeds, almonds, wheat germ, honey, vanilla, and dried fruit such as apricots, cherries or blueberries. Make a pan or two, slice them, bag them and serve them up! Also if you have the time, make some turkey wraps. Each wrap consists of a couple slices of turkey and an optional slice of cheese wrapped inside of a piece of lettuce. Kids are a little skeptical of them at first, but after one bite they'll be hooked. These too need to stay in a cooler. If you're schedule isn't going to permit you to do much baking and preparation then the grocery store offers many snack options. String cheese, cucumber slices or portable individual servings of yogurt kept in the cooler are healthy snacks. Head over to the bulk food section to find trail mix, nuts, dried fruit, and individual packets of crackers and cheese or pretzels and peanut butter. It's very convenient to pack healthy snacks. Sweet potato chips or rice chips are much healthier than their popular friend, the potato chip. They taste great too; you just need to give kids the opportunity to try them. Besides, if they're hungry enough they'll eat just about anything! Sometimes you may not come up with something as healthy as you would like while keeping in mind the quick and convenient requirement. Although if you can merely avoid harmful junk food snacks, you're doing a great service to your child. Job Salary: Avoid the 6 Biggest Mistakes!

By Paul Megan Youre on track to land your dream job. But can you afford it? Knowing how to handle the money question plagues job seekers. Especially if youre exploring an opportunity that looks very promising. You dont want to jinx the situation by prematurely asking about the salary. On the other hand, if they cant afford you, you dont want top waste your time pursuing a hopeless employment goal. Before you even go to an interview or first meeting with a decision-maker you MUST avoid the compensation pitfalls that can derail your good intentions. Here are the most serious mistakes to avoid. 1. Failing to do your homework. Gather all employment and compensation information you can before you go on an interview. 2. Jumping the gun. In the interest of not wasting your time if they cant afford you, you decide to pose the salary question right up front. You just lost all negotiating power . . . and probably a job offer. 3. Not taking the time to show the value you bring to the organization. No one will offer you a job or enter into salary negotiations if they cant see how you can contribute. Its up to you to make sure they see very specifically how you can make s difference. 4. Lowering your expectations. If an offer is made at a lower level than you expected, dont take it or leave it. Negotiate it. Tell them youre thrilled that they think enough of you to offer you a position. Now you want to take the time to consider it in light of other opportunities youre looking at. Then set up a time to come back. 5. Failing to be flexible. Your goal and that of your prospective employer may be quite different. Your objective is to find out what triggers their interest in you, and then find ways to accommodate them. 6. Losing patience. This usually results in discouragement of abandonment t of an opportunity because theyre not responding according to your timetable. Always ask what their timetable is for making a decision. The go out and pursue a couple more opportunities. Landing the best job for you requires careful preparation. It doesnt happen by chance. The best position for you allows you to select your next job rather than settle for it. Avoiding the pitfalls is a first step to your job search success. If You Package It, Will She Buy?

By JoAnn Hines Women make or influence 85% of the purchasing decisions in today's marketplace. Consumer goods companies are finally waking up to that fact. Unfortunately, just taking the man off the box and replacing it with a woman is not the answer. Nor is it to use pink or other traditionally feminine colors for the packaging. So what product packaging appeals to women? What will entice her to pick your product off the shelf? What siren screams, "Buy me" as she walks down the aisle? The answers are different than you might think. First, you need to connect with her on an intrinsic level. Do you understand why she is making the purchase? Alternatively, you need to know where she will be shopping. One thing is for sure, she will be in a hurry. Today's women are over worked, time crunched, and busy multi-tasking. How are you going to help her make an informed purchasing decision? When she comes to buy, she will dedicate about 2.6 seconds to the decision. (70% of purchases are in store, instantaneous decisions). So what will make her pick your product off the shelf? We all know color is a big influencer when it comes to making a product purchasing decision. However, what color will appeal to her? Besides its success in the well-established "Think Pink" campaign for breast cancer, pink is one of the least preferred colors in product packaging. Blue ranks as women's the number one choice followed closely by red. Does your packaging clearly illustrate the benefits driven product statement? Remember, she is in a hurry. Your package should scream the product's benefits. Convince her quickly that your product will simplify her life while being easy to use. Ease of use ranks high among female-friendly attributes along with simplicity of instructions. Keep away from engineering benefits driven statements. She doesn't really care how the product works as long as it works effectively and every time. What about the size of the package? Products in general are evolving to smaller sizes. Our lifestyle mandates that products are easily consumed in a short period or that they are easily handled and storable. She will pay a premium for it too if you can convince her it's worth it. As you design product packaging to target purchasing's number one decision maker, stay true to ways to make her life easier, simplified, and more efficient. Tumescent Liposuction Information

By Alan Hood Tumescent Liposuction is one of the latest advances in Liposuction. The Tumescent procedure allows for increased volumes of fat reduction per procedure than was previously possible, while at the same time increasing the safety and well being of the patient. Surgeons are finding it to be an effective tool in the elimination of stubborn fat on the hips, thighs, stomach, upper arms, and other difficult regions on the body. Patients undergoing Tumescent Liposuction often see reductions of several inches from the hips, thighs and buttocks. In addition to the increased volumes of fat removal, the patient experiences reduced levels of post-liposuction bruising. This is possible due to the continued technological advances in Liposuction equipment and techniques. Length and details of the Tumescent Liposuction procedure In Tumescent Liposuction the procedure is further enhanced by the utilization of a special solution in the targeted areas. During Tumescent liposuction, the targeted areas are injected with a special solution causing the fatty tissue to tumesce. (Swell up) The solution that is injected also includes a local anesthetic that numbs the treated area in addition to temporarily shrinking blood vessels. Next a small tubular device (Known as a Cannula) is utilized to transfer the targeted excess fat into a sterile collection system. With Tumescent Liposuction these components come together to result in fat removal, minimized blood loss, reduced bruising, and a maximization of patient comfort. Furthermore the local anesthesia that is contained in the solutions remains in the treated area for approximately 24 hours benefiting the patient in minimizing post-procedure pain. Tumescent liposuction recovery time The downtime is minimal and most people returning to their routines within five to seven days. An elastic compression garment is worn following surgery to help the skin contract and heal. After the tumescent liposuction procedure, most patients can usually return to a desk-type job within a few days. Patients may resume physical activity within five to seven days following the procedure. Potential Tumescent Liposuction side effects When performed by an experienced surgeon, tumescent liposuction is a very safe method of fat removal. The complications that may occur are irregularity in skin surface, unevenness, loose skin, numbness, infections and potential scarring. For the most part these complications are infrequent and are typically easily resolved. Long-term results of Tumescent Liposuction treatments Differences in physical appearance are often noted immediately. The final results of the procedure will be fully evident within six weeks. Depending on the individual patients physical makeup it is possible to experience drops between two to four sizes in clothing. Since fat cells are permanently removed by Tumescent liposuction, weight gain will not occur in the areas which the procedure targeted. It is important that proper diets and exercise routines be maintained as it is possible for patients to gain weight and fat in other areas of the body. Tumescent Liposuction cost The price of Tumescent Liposuction will depend on your individual needs. It will also very on your geographic location. As with any procedure, Tumescent Liposuction in New York will cost more than Tumescent Liposuction in Texas. The national average cost of a Tumescent Liposuction procedure runs between $2500 and $3000 for the first procedure. Will my insurance cover a Tumescent Liposuction procedure? Because a Tumescent Liposuction procedure is considered an elective procedure, insurance usually will not cover the operation. Read more about Tumescent Liposuction.
